stints in Capital One’s lending businesses,
business development and private equity
groups, honed his understanding of direct
marketing and the power of testing. Matt
mastered coupling a champion-challenger format
with a robust data infrastructure and powerful
analysis to drive marketing performance. He
managed the early years of an installment
lending business that became a major profit
center for the company.
Matt later
implemented similar strategies to the wireless
services industry working for Asurion. During
the time he was there the company developed
dominant market share and paralleled the
explosive growth Capital One experienced
during his tenure, growing its subscriber base
from 4 million to over 60 million in six
years. The Managing Director of Marketing
Analytics, he formed a team that drove
groundbreaking advancements in pricing,
underwriting, fraud detection and mitigation,
and cross-selling.
His broad
experience serves HSP well by combining best
practices from other industries to optimize
performance in a new arena. His professional
experience in financial services, online
marketing, and wireless services is a diverse
set of experiences for an executive who early
on studied engineering, earning his BSE from
Duke University before completing his MBA at
Stanford University. Matt lives in Arlington,
VA, with his children Bobby and Danielle.
