A winner of thirteen “Pollie” Awards from the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC), nine“MAXI” Awards from the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW), and one Reed Award from Campaigns & Elections Magazine, Colin has put his talents to work for political campaigns, PACs, pro-life and other conservative organizations since joining HSP Direct in 2006.
A 2002 graduate of Villanova University, Colin spent two years on the staff of U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA). In 2004, he left Washington D.C., to serve as field coordinator for the Republican National Committee’s outreach effort to social conservatives in swing-state Pennsylvania. Colin received a special commendation for his work during the election, specifically for his efforts to register new voters. Colin then joined the 55th Presidential Inaugural Committee, serving in the Office of Public Liaison. Shortly thereafter, he accepted a presidential appointment to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where he served as a confidential assistant in the Legislative Affairs Office of the Foreign Agricultural Service.
Born in Santa Monica, CA and raised in Fairfax, VA, Colin is a proud Eagle Scout, member of the Knights of Columbus, youth basketball coach, and parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church. Personal interests include golf, basketball, cigars, and literature.
Colin is married to Maura (McBryan) Burkhalter and they are blessed with six children: Maria Theresa, Anne de Sales, Clare Josephine, Francis Joseph, Kateri Rose, and Benedict Campion.
